Job Duties:
This position develops, directs and coordinates the work of the counties through the county patrol superintendent in order to accomplish the goals outlined in the annual Routine Maintenance Agreements (RMAs), Performance Based Maintenance (PbM) and Local Force Account (LFA) projects. The position also assists the roadway engineer and operations supervisor in planning, developing, and coordinating the annual state highway maintenance program and related highway activities within the region as needed. The activities require a broad scope of knowledge, independent judgment, and involvement in making complex decisions. The position provides the primary county project level supervision and support for the section. This position also provides direction and training to county staff in accomplishing their routine and discretionary maintenance programs. This includes all measures and activities necessary to provide safe travel for the public and to preserve roadways, structures, and other highway facilities.
Special Notes:
This position will be required to serve in standby status to implement the region's incident management program.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and roadway maintenance activities.
Advanced knowledge of highway design/construction principles and methods.
Advanced knowledge of surveying, design, construction, materials testing, and highway maintenance techniques
Ability to scope maintenance agreements and contracts
Organizational skills
Good oral and communication skills
Good customer relation skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work with county staff to determine the required needs to maintain the integrity of the existing roadway system
Ability to make sound recommendation and/or decisions based on engineering basics when field reviewing areas of concern
Ability to do cost estimates and analyze for needed maintenance projects and to monitor and administer those projects
Ability to convey and interpret to the general public the intent of as built plans, departmental policy, specifications and safety impacts

Experience with Roadway Maintenance Projects including activities such as project scheduling, evaluating project methods in accordance with project guidelines, developing project plans,implementing inspection criteria, gathering project data, providing technical expertise towards resolution of maintenance problems, managing budget constraints and/or other related activities.
Experience reading and interpreting highway plans and specifications including activities such as interpreting bridge and roadway plans, identifying problem areas, identifying field adjustments, and/or other related activities.
Leading a team including activities such as managing work flow, directing work activities, reviewing work products, facilitating project meetings, and/or other related activities.
Developing and approving contract documents, invoices, cost estimates or other related documents.
Reading and interpreting pavement maintenance plans and Routine Maintenance Agreements (RMAs).

Type of Employment: Full Time (40 hrs/week)
Salary: Starting annual salary is $51,156 - $58,464, pending relative qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A six-month probationary period may be required. Pay schedule and range: 14-13.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
